P: CPET 28100 or ITC 18000 or ITC 33100. This course introduces the fundamental topics of information assurance and security. It examines the analysis, design, implementation, and security policies issues to provide information security for enterprise system. The course provides an overview of methodologies, procedures, and technologies in information assurance. Topics include risk assessment, access control, authentication, symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, network monitoring and control, email and web application security. Wireless security, security protocols, virus protection, firewalls, and various attacks are also covered.
