P: Consent of instructor. This course provides a continued introduction to educational research that enables astute thinking and critical reasoning about the scientific process of research and how it can be actively applied in the PK-12 field for the purposes of ongoing school improvement. To support the research process, a closely supervised Internship that ensures an array of school leadership experiences that are grounded in content knowledge and supported through programmatic, state, and national standards will ensue. Said leadership experiences will be monitored by a qualified field mentor in collaboration with the course instructor and/or university Supervisor. This clinical Internship compels the candidate to synthesize, reflect, and apply the knowledge, leadership skills, and dispositions learned through the course text, independent readings, and in-class assignments to authentic and diverse school-based settings.
