Foundations Of Structured Lit

Catalog description

This course examines the essential components associated with the science of reading (i.e., phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension). Cognitive processes that serve as the foundation for literacy acquisition are explored. Emphasis is given to structured literacy instruction as a means of accommodating individual differences in cognitive, linguistic, sociocultural, and behavioral aspects of learning.
