This course introduces students to the field of construction management and its role within the built environment. Emphasis is placed on understanding construction industry sectors, the project life cycle, and key participants, including owners, designers, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Topics include designer–contractor relationships, project delivery methods, construction documents, estimating and bidding concepts, scheduling fundamentals, project management functions, safety awareness, and an overview of construction methods and materials. Students are also introduced to the principles of engineering ethics and professional responsibility, including moral reasoning, professional conduct, workplace integrity, environmental stewardship, and ethical decision-making, as essential elements of construction practice.
