P: MA 15300 or higher, and BUS 20200 or MA 27300 with grades of C- or better. P or C: ECON 27000 or STAT 51100 or STAT 51600 with grade of C- or better. Sophomore or higher class standing required. This course introduces essential topics of financial management, including the time value of money, valuation of debt and equity securities, risk and return analysis, and capital budgeting. Emphasis is placed on gaining familiarity with finance terminology and logically applying finance concepts in real-world personal and corporate financial decisions.
