P: BIOL 21800 with a grade of C- or higher. C: BIOL 50600 OR BIOL 51501. Restricted to Biology majors. In this course you will experience current methods in genetics and genomics in a semester-long research project that corresponds with the material taught in an advanced genetics lecture course (BIOL 50600 or 51501). This course is designed as a CRE (Course-based Research Experience) to give you the opportunity to participate in primary research projects. This semester’s project will involve the characterization of a genetic modifier of disease. In the course of this research, you will gain experience in a number of important techniques in genetics and molecular biology.
