Catalog description
This course introduces students to Cultural Anthropology through the comparative study of human cultural diversity across societies worldwide. Students explore fundamental anthropological concepts including culture, ethnography, marriage and family organization, religion, economics, politics, and globalization. Through case studies drawn from diverse geographical regions, students develop cross-cultural analytical skills that enable them to critically examine both unfamiliar societies and their own cultural contexts while appreciating the complexities of human social life. The course emphasizes holistic and relativistic approaches to understanding human cultural variation.
