Catalog description

Pre-requisite: TEOC 6301. Emphasis is given to the development of skills to evaluate the learning context and child’s performanc e within it. Discussed interventions include assistive technology to enhance the teaching -learning process, strategies to promote mental health in educational contexts, and ways to contribute to ease transitions within the educational pathway. The critical importance of collaborative work with school personnel and the role of occupational therapists as a consultant within the school context are focused during experiences embedded throughout the course. Students are encouraged to understand and envision the participation of occupational therapy as part of a Multi -Tiered System of Support (MTSS).
