Catalog description

Pre -requisite: TEOC 6301. Clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based practice will be used to guide decisions related to the selection of an appropriate model of practice to work with children and adolescents with diverse needs, inclu ding: sensory processing, postural and mobility, feeding, visual -perceptual, and behavioral difficulties, as well as with youth transitioning to adulthood. Occupation -based evaluation, treatment planning and interventions will be emphasized throughout the course content, case discussions, documentation exercises and assignments. The course includes laboratory experiences. TEOC 6401 - Evidence Based Practice in Occupational Therapy I. Three and a half (3.5) credits. Pre-requisite: TEOC 6001, TEOC 6008 This course is the first of a three -course sequence. The emphasis of these courses is on developing skills to make clinical intervention decisions guided by scientific findings.
