Catalog description

Pre -requisites: TEFI 7046. This course discusses the physics, and the physiological and clinical effects of electric currents used for therapeutic purposes. Electrodiagnostic tests and electrotherapeutic modalities currently used in physical therapy practice are presented. Research evidence that supports the use of these tests and modalities is discussed. It is expected that the student demonstrates sound clinical judgment in the use of such procedures. Instructional strategies include lectures, demonstrations, and supervised laboratory practice.
