Catalog description

This course addresses the role of the physical therapist as a member of the health care team, as well as physical therapy practice expectations and domains. Models of clinical reasoning, including enablement/disablement models and decision -making algorithm s for patient care management, are presented. Legal, ethical, regulatory, and practice expectations issues that impact the delivery of physical therapy services are also addressed. The student is expected to reflect on the scope of physical therapy, and on the impact that becoming a physical therapist has in his/her social responsibilities. Instructional strategies include lectures, discussions, debates, and appraisal of a public hearing, among others.
