This course addresses the bioethical aspects related to maternal and child health from the main philosophies, principles, theories and ethical norms which are used as the basis for the solutions of public health policy debates. The ethical and legal princi ples of public health and clinical practice are discussed. The principles, values and ethical behaviors that support professional conduct in the health care system are recognized. By using case analyses ethical dilemmas and topics are identified which affe ct the population of mothers and children, to describe the ethical implications and solve problems ethically considering the community values and culture. The ethical, political and scientific implications of new developments in biotechnology are considered. The course will be offered totally online and is geared to professionals who work with aspects related to maternal and child health.
