Laboratory Animal Management

Catalog description

Pre -requisites: SAAN 4047, SAAN 4067, SAAN 4120. The animals considered in this course are those most frequently encountered in the laboratory situation; the greater proportion of the study being confined to the more common laboratory mammals. The primary objective is to discuss the principles involved i n the healthy maintenance of animals in the laboratory or animal house. The student must be aware about the environmental requirements, physiological data, and techniques of husbandry, involved in the care and use of laboratory animals.
