Catalog description

Pre-requisites: SAAN 4059, SAAN 4060. At the end of this course, the student will be able to discuss basic concepts of food sanitation and identify the most common sources of food contamination. In addition, will identify methods of sanitation and food preservation. Students will understand and interpret laws and regulations related to food production, manufacture, storage, and distribution. He will also recognize symptomatology of food borne disease and will develop practical techniques of food conservation and safety.
