Catalog description
This course provides students the knowledge and skills necessary to integrate legal, administrative, and scientific fundamentals in the analysis of existing environmental problems and to offer solutions. Existing environmental policies in Puerto Rico, the United States, and the world are discussed, as well as their effect on the control and prevention of environmental problems. In addition, various alternatives of environmental management to deal with environmental problems are discussed. Through interacti ve lectures and group discussion, students will analyze public health problems related to the environment in relation to the existing public policy. Students will evaluate the implications of alternative courses of action for the solution of problems of po llution and use of natural resources for the protection of public health and propose alternatives to improve the protection of environmental health.
