Catalog description

Pre-requisites: SAAM 6528. The study involves factors that determine h ow chemicals enter and affect the human body, types of chemicals and the typical industries that process of generate them, and their mechanisms of toxicity. The instructional strategies include lectures, review and analysis of scientific literature, classr oom discussions, homework preparation and oral presentations. Students are expected to be aware of the toxic substances that are handled in work scenarios, their harmful effects on the body, as well as to critically analyze possible risk situations that may arise in the field of industrial toxicology.
