Catalog description

In this course the principles of advanced pharmacology and modern aspects related to the effects of drugs on humans and other living organisms are discussed. In addition, its main use by organ systems including the nervous, cardiovascular, endocrine system s, and by clinical conditions or disease states including cancer, inflammatory and infectious diseases is also discussed. Drug mechanisms, major toxicities and interactions, botanical preparations, and treatment strategies for major diseases, are discussed . The principles of absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion (ADME), clinical applications and advanced pharmacology concepts on the development of modern drugs such as gene therapy, will be emphasized. The course includes lectures, active learning methodologies, and discussions of scientific articles. This course will be delivered in face-to-face mode
