Catalog description

Pre-requisite: PERI 9226. In this course, the third -year graduate student will develop advanced clinical management skills based on scientific evidence in the principles of dental implant placement. Surgical protocols will be worked with emphasis on flap design, atraumatic flap re flection, osteotomy preparation and dental implant insertion in more complex clinical cases. The student will utilize the knowledge acquired in previous courses on dental implants for the proper management of these cases. The third -year resident will hav e the opportunity to apply simple and complex suturing techniques, as required on the case of the patient being cared by the resident. This course will be delivered in face-to-face modality.
