Catalog description

Pre-requisite: PERI 9222. In this course, the third -year graduate student will be responsible for the learning experience from a dialectical perspective. Through seminars, group discussions, and interactive lectures, various scientific articles associated with important aspects of Periodontics and directly related to the topics offered in the courses that are part of the Program's curriculum, will be analyzed and discussed. Among the topics to be discussed are: periodontal anatomy, cellular and molecular biology, epidemiology and et iology, diagnosis, prevention, treatment, maintenance and evaluation of results. Students will apply acquired knowledge in their clinical practice experience. Upon completion of the course, the student is expected to possess the knowledge and skills necess ary to approve the in -service examination of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) and the American Board of Periodontology. This course will be offered in face-to-face mode.
