Catalog description

Pre-requisite: PERI 9202. In this course, the third-year graduate student will be responsible for conducting a thorough literature review on the topic of classical periodontics. Each student will be assigned a wide range of classic scientific papers, related to the art and science of Periodontics; who must read, critically evaluate, synthesize, and prepare a presentation to present to the faculty and their classmates the results of the critical analysis carried out. Students will meet in a round table where they will share the learning acquired from a dialectical perspective. Through interactive presentations and discussions based on the classic literature studied, students are expected to acquire a deeper knowledge about the techniques used in periodontal treatment that they could apply in their clinical practice experience; and refine their ability to evaluate advanced techniques that emerge later. The course will be offered in face-to-face mode.
