Graduate Periodontal Clinic II

Catalog description

Pre-requisite: PERI 9127. In this supervised clinical practice course, the 2nd year periodontal graduate student will continue their clinical training in the field of periodontics. The resident is expected to treat at least 25 new cases with documentation including discussion of medical history, diagnosis, treatment planning, complete therapy, and outcomes, including periodontal therapy alternatives and related dental disciplines, that are tailored to the patient's physical, psychological, and financial needs. At this clinical level, the resident is expected to exhibit proficiency in all forms of therapy, as well as being encouraged to provide therapy for many of the various types of periodontal disease, from gingivitis to aggressive periodontal cases. Diagnosis and rehabilitation of partially or fully edentulous patients with implants is required. The course will be offered in face -to-face mode. PERI 9230 - Occlusion. One (1) credit. Pre-requisite: PERI 9120. This course is aimed to the 2nd year periodontal graduate student.
