Implant Dentistry for the Periodontist II

Catalog description

Pre-requisite: PERI 9125. In this course, the 2nd year periodontal graduate student will continue studying the clinical and didactic information pertinent to the basic surgical principles for implant placement. During the course, surgical protocols will also continue to be studied with a strong emphasis on flap design, atraumatic flap reflection, and osteotomy preparation. The resident will have more exposure to continue practicing the insertion of dental implants in plastic models. The resident will also expand his or her practice into simple and complex suturing techniques, and the proper selection of each patient case will be discussed. By the end of the course the resident will be able to master a treatment plan. The course will be offered in face-to-face mode.
