Periodontal Lecture Series II

Catalog description
Pre-requisites: PERI 9104, PERI 9121. Co- requisite: PERI 9202. Through their direct participation in seminars, presentations, discussions, and conferences, the 2nd year periodontal graduate student is expected to gain a deeper understanding of diagnosis, therapy, and pathology in periodontics. The articles to be presented by the residents will include topics such as: anatomy of the periodontium, cellular and molecular biology, epidemiology and etiology, diagnosis, prevention, treatment, maintenance and evaluation of results, among others. These articles will be directl y related to and complement the Classic Periodontal Literature Seminar 11 course. Taking this course residents are expected to be better prepared to take the American Board of Periodontology exam as well as the in-service exam offered by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). This course will be offered in face-to-face mode.
