Periodontal Diagnosis and Treatment Planning II

Catalog description

Pre-requisite: PERI 9120. Through seminar discussions and interactive lectures, the 2nd year periodontal graduate student will continue working with the diagnosis phase which includes the latest diagnostic techniques, clinical and radiological evaluation (Panoramic X -ray, periapica l X -ray, cone beam X -ray, substraction radiography), genetics and intersullary fluid analysis. In the treatment planning phase, as well as in the modalities of the treatment, the detailed analysis will be deepened. The main objective of the course is to provide each student with the opportunity to think critically about each phase, practice the development of each phase, describe the progression from one phase to the next, and be able to work independently to develop a treatment plan with an evidence-based rationale for each phase of treatment. By the end of the year the student will be able to master a treatment plan. This course will be delivered in face-to-face mode.
