Classic Periodontal Literature Seminar I

Catalog description
In this course, fundamental for the interpretation of pathophysiology and the rational treatment of periodontal disease, the student will acquire basic knowledge about the different treatments that have been developed in periodontology. The first -year periodontal graduate student will be responsible for reading, critically evaluating, and presenting to faculty and peers classic scientific articles assigned for discussion thereof. Through discussion and analysis of the techniques used in the treatment of periodontal disease the student will develop the ability to evaluate advanced techniques that may arise in the future. The seminar will cover basic topics such as Anatomy of Periodontium and the Etiology, Diagnosis and Treatment of the tissues that comprise the Periodontium. The course will be delivered in face-to-face mode.
