Nutritional Research Methodology

Pre-requisites: NUTR 6528, NUTR 6560, NUTR 6538, BIOE 6525, EPID 6523, DEMO 6606. This course pretends that graduate student of nutrition program be able to develop research proposals that address the public health situation in the area of nutrition. To do so, he/she will review and integrate knowledge and skills previously acquired in other courses, and perform a literature review in order to develop the idea that will be investigated. Some points to be addressed in the course are: the conception of the idea, application of frameworks to nutritional studies, research question, objectives, method development for data management. The course will be offered through lectures and group discussions. After completing the course the student is expected to present (written and orally) a research proposal.
