Interprofessional Collaborative Practice in Public Health

Catalog description

This course provides the opportunity to integrate essential interprofessional education to public health students. Through modules, discussion groups and case studies, students are expected to apprehend values, roles and responsibilities of teamwork approa ch when addressing a public health issue. Students will participate in interprofessional teams for decision-making process based on case studies analysis to develop an intervention plan. Teams will be constituted by public health professionals and related areas to public health as physicians, pharmacists, nurses, dentists, psychologists, social workers, engineering, lawyers, architects, among others. At the end of course, students will reflect of team effectiveness in the collaborative approach to establish public health actions. The course will be offered in-person, hybrid, or online modality.
