Catalog description
This online course provides students with a clinical and public health perspective to address the physical, social, and psychological needs of older adults. Through virtual interactive lectures, discussion forums, case discussions in virtual rooms, among o ther activities, the course will cover the most common diseases and chronic conditions that affect older adults. Topics such as management of medicines and polypharmacy, nutrition and other important health-related issues for the health promotion of older adults will be studied. It also covers environmental and self-care factors that affect older adults and their relationship to disability. At the end of the course, students will apply clinical knowledge within public health strategies for health promotion and disease prevention among older adults.
