Catalog description
Pre -requisites: Satisfactorily complete the courses of the Second Professional Year of the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. This elective course includes a sequence of educational sessions that enhance the development of skills and concepts related to the education and care of the patient with Diabetes. The course encourage Pharmacy students to develop educational literature th at could be used at their practice centers to educate patients with Diabetes, apply the knowledge acquired, and develop new concepts. During the course, several tasks or special projects will be assigned to the students, according to the needs and student priorities. The student will coordinate a group educational activity directed to patients with Diabetes in a selected community. Active learning methodologies will be used, as well as, the Blackboard Learning System will be adopted as a learning and educational tool to enhance the distance interaction between student -professor and student- student.
