Advanced Human Anatomy and Physiology

Catalog description
The course provides an in -depth study of human anatomy and physiology while integrating the use of cadaveric dissections to provide students with a detailed knowledge on each body system. Special emphasis is directed towards the respiratory, central nervou s, musculoskeletal, hepatobiliary, and gastrointestinal, renal, hematologic, and immune systems functions. Through lectures and group discussions, among other instructional strategies, the course prepares the student to understand and integrate future know ledge stemming from advanced pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology, basic and advanced principles of anesthesia. Thus, the student will amplify its capability of critical thinking and decision making as he/she gains further knowledge in the practice of nurse anesthesia.
