Catalog description

The course is designed to relate chemistry, biochemistry and physic laws to the science and practice of anesthesia. Emphasis is placed on the chemical and physical properties of the anesthetic agents and the biochemical systems affected in the biotransform ation of the fluid agents. Gas laws are analyzed within the context of the physiology of the human body. This course prepares students to apply the critical thinking skills related to anesthesia administration. It also facilitates the development of the ne cessary background in chemistry, biochemistry and physics as applied to the practice of anesthesia.
