Catalog description

This course explores the historical, philosophical and theoretical foundations of nursing science and the evolution of research that has contributed to the development of nursing knowledge, nursing theories and advances in evidence -based nursing. Conceptua l models and nursing theories that serve as a framework for nursing practice, research, leadership and interventions are examined, critiqued, and evaluated. The connection between theory, practice, leadership and research and its importance for nursing practice and profession is analyzed. Nursing theories and their contribution to the establishment of public policy are studied and analyzed. The course can be offered in face to face, hybrid, distance learning, or online modality.
