Nursing Intervention in Mental Health and Psychiatry I

Catalog description

In depth study of theories related to the field of Mental Health as well as theories of growth and development and human behavior. This course also includes the study of emotional disorders and social pathology of clients throughout the life cycle. Emphasi s is given to the development of skills needed to offer nursing care in the mental health psychiatric nursing settings. The students develop instruments for the assessment of nursing needs and the evaluation of the nursing care given. Participation in sens itivity group experiences for the development of self -awareness and personal growth are part of the learning experiences in this course.
