Supervised Practice in Health Promotion and Health Education

Catalog description
This course provides the student with a supervised practice by a preceptor in which he/she applies and integrates the skills of health educator in a real scenario. The student is assigned to an organization or community that provides health education programs or that incorporates health promotion in its philosophy of work in which he/she will participate in experiences that will allow him/her to perform roles of Health Educator in the context of the services offered. He/she will also estimate the needs in education and health promotion, design, implement and evaluate an action plan in order to address the identified needs. The student will participate in didactic sessions and other educational activities that will complement his/her learning experience. Afte r completing the course the student is expected to demonstrate his/her dispositions, knowledge and skills developed for the exercise of the profession.
