Catalog description

Pre- requisites: ADSS 6516, EDSA 6476. This hybrid course introduces the graduate student to the field of evaluation and measurement of health promotion and education programs. The course is designed to develop knowledge and skills for the evaluation of programs, projects, and initiatives assoc iated with discipline. The fundamental concepts of evaluation will be discussed, as well as the models, designs, and methods of data collection that are useful for evaluative judgment. In addition, the most used measures will be presented considering the t heoretical models of the field of health education referenced in peer -reviewed journals. The course will be offered through virtual interactive lectures, workshops, group discussions, workshops, virtual labs, videoconferences and independent study. At the end of the course, students will be able to design an assessment plan with a data collection instrument that demonstrates the application of their knowledge to a real setting.
