Catalog description

This hybrid course is designed to prepare students with the skills needed to implement health promotion and health education interventions. A variety of health promotion and health education strategies and techniques will be emphasized including, but not l imited to, educational presentations and materials development, community organizing, working with an individual, and groups. In the course, students will demonstrate facilitator skills relevant to the practice of Health Promotion and Health Education. In addition, they will apply theories or models in the approach to an educational, health or social problem. The course includes virtual interactive lectures and case study analysis, among others. Students will design a theory -based health education intervention using multi-layered techniques and strategies to address the educational, health, or social needs of an individual and a group.
