Introduction to Radiological Sciences

Pre-requisites: none The course introduces the undergraduate student to the basic principles of radiation protection, the academic and administrative structure and its relationship to the hospital structure, the principles of quality client services, the history of x-rays, and radiographic procedures and equipment. In addition, the ethical and legal principles associated with the discipline of radiological sciences are studied. It also focuses on the importance and impact of the ethical and legal aspects that regulate the profession, and its relationship with other health professionals. Lectures, discussions, visits to hospital institutions and others will be used to address, discuss and analyze the content of the course. Upon completion of the course, the student should demonstrate a broad understanding of radiological sciences from an ethical, legal, technical, and service delivery perspective. This course will be offered in the face-to-face modality.
