Catalog description

Pre-requisites: CILC 6301. This online course includes the theoretical aspects of peptide synthesis and purification, quality control and industrial and research applications. Dry -laboratory experiences include the purification of proteins, HPLC chromatography, gas and ion exchange chromatography, and spectrometry. The course will also present the clinical applications of proteomics. The nature of protein biomarkers and the techniques for their discovery will also be discussed. Topics will be presented through a virtual learning envi ronment. Instructional strategies include video stream lectures, open discussions, group discussions, videoconferences, dry - laboratory experiences, demonstrations, video animations, and independent studies, among others.
