Pre-requisites: Courses of Physiology, Biochemistry, and/or Molecular Cellular Biology. The Cardiovascular Biology course is designed to cover the primary aspects of the Cardiovascular System. These include Genetics, Structure and Function at the Cellular Level, Physiopathology and Pharmacology of the most common cardiovascular disorders. The Cardiovascular Biology course will be useful in the education of graduate students, medical students and residents. It will complement the graduate student’s education by putting them in contact with clinical aspects of cardiac pathologies. Likewise, the medical students and residents may complement their clinical formation with training in cellular and molecular aspects. CBIO 8506 - Advanced Topics in Biomedical Sciences. One to three (1-3) credits. This course presents the latest advances and recent research findings in biomedical sciences, principally in the areas of anatomy, biochemistry, microbiology, neuroscience, pharmacology and/or physiology.
