Investigations in Complex Carbohydrates Biochemistry II

Catalog description

This course will involve training in how to design, conduct, and analyze independent research in Complex Carbohydrate Biochemistry. For this course the enzymatic synthesis and subsequent processing of the glycan chains in the Post-Golgi compartment and network will be investigated. In vitro assays of glycosyltransferases will also be performed to understand the regulatory events. These studies will be expected to answer new questions and to generate novel data, as opposed to reproducing experiments that hav e been performed before.
