Physiological Assessment of the Auditory System

Catalog description
Pre-requisites: AUDI 7118, HLAG 6303. This course provides the student with a comprehensive study of the theoretical and applied physiological measures of the auditory system (e.g. electrocochleography, otoacoustics emissions, and auditory evoked potentials; including early, middle and late re sponses). The student will interpret the results of the physiological measurements and will use that interpretation to establish a diagnosis of the most common diseases and conditions of the auditory system. The course emphasizes student’s participation th rough presentation of case studies and group discussions on the analysis and interpretation of test results. Demonstrations and hands on experiences will be provided in the Laboratory of Physiological Assessment of the Auditory System course. AUDI 7129 - Laboratory of Physiological Assessment of the Auditory System. One (1) credit. Pre-requisites: AUDI 7118, HLAG 6303. This laboratory course compliments the Physiological Assessment of the Auditory System course.
