Catalog description

Pre-requisites: ADSS 8005. This course introduces students through interactive lectures, workshops, group discussion, and case studies to the theory of financial management for healthcare systems. The corporate finance theory and its application to healthcare including budgeting and cost of capital, leasing and asset financing, financial distress and agency theory are discussed. Students will learn about the key financial activities such as financial statement analysis, budget planning, projects financial evaluation, financing decisi on making, and cost analysis. Students are expected to be able to perform financial analyses, recommend courses of actions in public and private healthcare systems, present their results and recommendations based on the theory discussed in class.
