Catalog description
Pre-requisite: ADSS 6525. The course is designed for students undergoing graduate-level training to assume executive positions in the health care field. The course provides the student the opportunity to become familiarized with the managerial and labor legislation activities in the field of Human Resources Management and Labor Relations, and emphasizes the application of concepts and methods from this field to the healthcare scenario. It also has the purpose of generating Interpersonal and organizational skills that are critical to Human Resources Management. The course is organized in four (4) areas: 1) Concepts, Scope, and Approach to Human Resources Management, 2) Methods, Roles, and Activities in Human Resources Management, 3) The Dynamic Nature of the Labor Relations, 4) Interpersonal and Organizational Skills. The teaching methodology includes lectures, group discussions, student presentations, and practice exercises.
