Legal Aspects in Health Services

Pre-requisites: ADSS 6525. This course is designed to provide a thorough insight of the ever -expanding interface between the law and health services administration in the civil and administrative realms focusing in risk management to the health service administration students. The course familiarizes the student with the application of legislation and regulations both in the commonwealth as well as the federal scenario. Lectures will be held covering those topics of major relevance and interest to the practice of health care services . Ethical issues will be attended as part of every topic discussed in class. At the end of the course, the student will be able to interpret the basic legal principle affecting how healthcare services operate upon health policy issues.
