Fundamentals of Health Policy and Management in Public Health

Catalog description

This course introduces the fundamentals of program management, leadership, and organizational dynamics. It includes understanding the role of the manager; the importance of leadership; the structure and function of organizations; selected human resources i ssues; and managerial skills, such as communication, problem solving, decision making, team building, and power and influence. Since the manager is critical to the organization’s success, students learn how to define and measure program performance, develo p plan and deal with human resources issues. Using case studies and group exercises, students are expected to demonstrate effective group management and analyzed typical management scenarios.
