Fundamental basics of structure, conformation and function of biological molecules. Design and organization of vital processes. QUIM 4057. PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY: APPLICATIONS TO BIOTECHNOLOGY. Four credit hours. Four hours of lecture per week. Study of the principles and applications of physical chemistry that are used to solve problems in biotechnology. Fundamental concepts of classical thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, quantum mechanics, and spectroscopy and their application to biological problems.
