Factors affecting a product design: composition, cost, reliability, quality, maintainability, manufacturability, and aesthetics. These factors are applied in a project design. INME 4107. MATERIALS SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING Four credit hours. Three hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory per week. A study of the relationship of the mechanical properties of materials to their micro and macro structure, with emphasis on the application of materials in the fields on engineering.
