Catalog description

One two-hour laboratory per week. Experiments and projects in the areas of machine science: synthesis and analysis of kinematics chains, shafts, gears, torque loading in bolt assemblies, dynamic and static loading, fatigue and other failure mechanisms. Introduction to applied statistics and design of experiments, use of transducers, sensors and computer-based data acquisition systems for collecting and evaluating data related to position, velocity, acceleration, force, torque, mechanical vibrations, and sound level.
