Application of the beach as the theoretical framework within the Environmental Humanities for the analysis and interpretation of world literatures, which include the genres of the novel, drama, the short story, poetry, and film. The Tidalectic, or maritime-terrestrial dialectic, will serve as the model for the interpretation and analysis of the selected texts under study.
