Use of materials selection software. Discussion of engineering materials and their structure-property-performance relationship. Use of case studies for the application of basic concepts in materials selection and the application of materials selection charts. Discussion of multiple constraints and compound objectives. The concepts of process selection as well as aesthetics and industrial design will also be discussed.
